A luxury yacht valued at nearly $1 million was seen sinking off the coast of Turkey just minutes after being launched on its maiden voyage.
The incident occurred last Tuesday (2) when the Dolce Vento, a 24-meter-long vessel, sank shortly after being launched into the sea off the coast of Zonguldak.
The Coast Guard and medical team were quickly dispatched to the site. According to a report by BOAT International, there were four people aboard, including the owner, the captain, and two crew members.
However, no one was injured, as when the boat started sinking, they jumped into the sea and managed to swim to safety.
The exact cause of the sinking has not been revealed, but some reports suggested it could have been caused by a stabilization issue. An investigation and technical inspection of the wreckage will be carried out.
The ship began construction in 2024 at the Med Yilmaz Shipyard. After completion, the yacht was delivered to its owner, who lives in Istanbul, according to the British tabloid The Sun.
